Lane L. Macaluso

Lane Macaluso knows how to get the job done.

A former college athlete who worked full-time throughout law school, Lane is dedicated to making sure all the details of each of his cases receive his full attention. From the initial consultation to the eventual resolution, Lane uses his competitive skills and attention to detail to follow through on the issues of each case he takes.

Growing up in Metairie, Lane attended Brother Martin High School and received his Bachelor’s of Science in Management degree from Tulane University with a concentration in Finance and Legal Studies. While at Tulane, he was a member of the football team and started 37 games in his career including the 2002 Hawaii Bowl.

Despite his interest in the law, Lane chose a different path after graduation, accepting a full-time management position with AT&T in Birmingham, Alabama. During his time in Alabama, he also completed his Master’s in Business Administration at Auburn University.

But after only four years in Birmingham, Lane moved back home to Metairie to enroll in law school at Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. Just like with his MBA, Lane worked full-time during the three and a half years it took to complete his JD, all while raising a young family with his wife.

In fact, one of Lane’s greatest challenges came during law school when his youngest child was born nearly three months premature and weighed less than two pounds. In addition to the difficulty of balancing a full time job and law school, Lane had to watch his newborn son fight for his life in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Fortunately, after receiving excellent medical care from the many doctors and nurses during his stay, Lane’s son was able to go home after 78 days in the hospital.

After finishing law school, Lane began his legal career at a reputable insurance defense firm in Metairie, during which he learned the insurance companies’ arguments and tactics in defending personal injury cases. It was during this time that his interest in nursing home abuse, neglect, and personal injury cases began to arise. These injury cases felt particularly personal to Lane after he and his family were in a car accident that ended in medical treatments for the entire family.

As I worked with the various insurance companies involved to get a favorable settlement to compensate for our injuries, I realized that everyone deserves to be represented by a competent and trusted attorney.

Lane’s experience on the field and hard-working attitude provide the perfect combination for an attorney that is always willing to go the extra mile to work for his clients. While he cannot deny the similarities between law and the sports world, Lane enjoys working as an attorney because he sees it as an opportunity to make a positive impact in people’s lives.

When he’s not in the courtroom, you can find Lane spending time with his wife, Candace, and their two beautiful children – especially if it’s time to coach their sports teams.

As an attorney I get to compete and battle my opponents, but the best part of practicing law is helping my clients reach a positive resolution in order to heal and overcome what is likely one of the most difficult times of their life.
